Liberace Museum

The world-famous pianist, Liberace made Las Vegas his home and the city still adores one of its most respected performers in the form of the Liberace Museum. It is located at a few minutes drive from the Las Vegas Strip. A visit to the Museum consists of visiting two different structures.

One building has the musical instruments of the late maestro such as his piano and a gallery showing some of his beloved vintage cars. The other building displays some of the more elaborate and precious collections including jewelry and awards along with a very definitive imitation of his personal bedroom.

There is a free shuttle service that is available from some parts of Vegas and reaching The Liberace Museum is very convenient. The Museum is one of the rare ones that were opened by the person in whose honor they were created. Yes, Liberace himself inaugurated it in 1979. Most people come here to see the ring created in the shape of a piano, which has 260 diamonds.

This ring also has the world’s largest rhinestone. The man had a truly amazing sense of style and visitors can see his personal collections including accessories studded with precious rubies and sapphires. The Liberace Museum also displays a priceless Swarovski crystal collection.

Another famous display that attracts its patrons for Las Vegas NV travel from around the world includes the Moser crystal collection including some monogrammed pieces. The Liberace Museum’s most expensive asset is the Louis XV desk that belonged to a Russian Czar. Visitors are often left gawking at the slightly bizarre sense of the great pianist, as the tour guides passionately describe how he painstakingly went about creating this stunning collection.
